Toyota sold 8,745 cars in February 2022

Toyota has announced that the brand sold a total of 8745 units in February 2022. This means that the Japanese manufacturer has registered a growth of 19% in the Indian market compared to sales in January 2022. However, Toyota recorded sales of 14,075 units in domestic wholesales in the month of February last year. In January 2022, the brand sold 7328 units. The brand also revealed that the Innova Crysta, as well as the Fortuner, show a consistent rise in booking orders, the Camry hybrid also shows promising booking orders. The company is also looking forward to completing the pending orders.

Toyota Kirloskar Motors – Production Capacity in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) has a total installed production capacity of 310,000 units per annum. The company has two plants in Bidadia town situated on the Bengaluru – Mysuru expressway in Karnataka. The first plant which was installed in October 1997 and started producing Toyota vehicles in India in December 1999 has a capacity of 100,000 units per annum.

The second plant started rolling out vehicles in December 2010 has a production capacity of 210,000 units per year. While Plant 1 caters to the demand of Innova, Fortuner that are manufactured in India, it also brings in the Vellfire imported as CBU. The second plant rolls outs the Camry hybrid. Situated in 432 acres of land area the company employs around 6,000 personnel at the production facility.

Toyota Glanza

Toyota recently announced that the brand has started accepting bookings on the cool-new Glanza hatchback in India. The Toyota Glanza is based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno which was recently launched in the Indian market. The brand will be revealing the new Glanza in full on 15th March 2022 (Tomorrow). The brand will be offering best-in-segment features such as heads-up display, Smartplay touchscreen infotainment, 6-airbags etc.

Rumours also suggest that Maruti Suzuki and Toyota are developing two new SUVs under their joint venture. The brands are said to be conducting development tests on Indian roads evident from spy shots that recently emerged on the internet.
