Toyota Kirloskar Motor has released its sales performance for April 2022. For the given period, the carmaker has posted a total sales of 15,085 units. The figure for April 2021 stood at 9,600 units, thus resulting in a growth of 57 per cent. In addition to this, Toyota also has something else to cheer about. The Japanese carmaker achieved the significant milestone of clocking cumulative wholesales of over two million units since inception. Toyota mentioned that the demand is slowly picking up pace, as evident from the growing sales figure.

Toyota India’s Range Of Cars

Currently, Toyota India retails a total of 7 nameplates in India. This includes Glanza, Urban Cruiser, Innova Crysta, Hilux, Fortuner, Camry and Vellfire. TKM mentioned that both the Glanza and Urban Cruiser are doing pretty well in terms of sales. Unsurprisingly, Innova and Fortuner continue to lead their respective segments. With hybrid vehicles getting more popular, there’s a significant rise in the demand for Toyota’s Camry. The hybrid vehicle is increasingly getting popular.

2 Million Sales Volume

Selling 20 lakh cars in India is not an easy task, and Toyota is one of the few carmakers to accomplish the feat. The carmaker has made itself a name that’s synonymous with reliability. Toyota’s reliability is also one of the main reasons why we see so many Innovas in the commercial segment because it’s built like a tank. Toyota’s feat of selling 2 million cars has not been easy. Winning the hearts of customers in a price-sensitive market like India is not easy by any means. But, Toyota has worked out its way.

Leveraging its global partnership with Suzuki for good, Toyota has successfully utilised the collaboration with Glanza and Urban Cruiser. Both the mass-market cars give a tough fight to their rivals and rack up enough sales. TKM is also keen on making more of this partnership, and we assume some products are coming out from both these brands in the coming future.
