Toyota has announced the sales figures for the month of November 2022. The Japanese carmaker sold 11,765 units last month, compared to 13,003 units in the same period last year. Additionally, sales from April to November showcased a growth of 31% compared to the same period in 2021. The strong numbers are due to the positive sentiments due to the Innova Hycross unveil and the launch of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
Last week, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) unveiled the Innova Hycross. Hycross is the latest addition to the Innova badge. It is based on Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA), the people-mover represents Toyota’s Quality, Durability, and Reliability. While the car was just unveiled, the car will officially be launched early next year. Bookings for cars have already started.
Toyota’s new Innova Hycross will be built on the advanced TNGA platform, and will be a front-wheel-drive vehicle primarily. The old Innova with its rear-wheel-drive layout had quite a few admirers though. That said, we must wait and watch how the market responds to this new vehicle.
Toyota will offer two powertrain options on the Innova Hycross. This includes a strong hybrid powertrain with a 2.0-litre engine and Toyota Hybrid System. The combined output of this system is 186 PS and a claimed fuel economy of 21.1 km/l. The petrol-only version too comes with a 2.0-litre engine, but the power is limited to 174 PS.
The Toyota Safety Sense package consists of Dynamic Cruise control, Lane Trace Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring System, Pre-collisions System and Auto High Beam. The Hycross also gets six SRS airbags, all-wheel disc brakes and a Panoramic View Monitor with dynamic parking lines. The MPV also gets Vehicle Stability Control with Hill Start Assist and the standard ABS with EBD.
