Toyota has revealed new details of their new TNGA based chassis which will be cost-effective. Dubbed as the GA-B, this new chassis will be used for the next-generation Yaris series and is the smallest platform on the TNGA architecture. The GA-B has been developed keeping in mind good handling and driving dynamics. The chassis of the new GA-B platform would be more rigid than the one currently in place. It will benefit from stronger joints in the body structure. Toyota will be making use of McPherson strut suspension at the front end and torsion beam or multi-link axle at the rear.
With the new improved chassis, the Yaris will allow for a lower seating height for the driver, which in return will help in an engaging drive with the new Yaris. The centre of gravity is also expected to be improved. The new chassis has been developed to offer good cabin space.
Toyota will try to have as many parts in common with the higher-spec TNGA architecture but will also have distinctive styling. The new Yaris will also be made to offer a spacious cabin by segment standards. The GA-B will also have short overhands.
This new GA-B chassis will be used across multiple Toyota variants.
