Toyota Motor Corporation has unveiled the concept version of the Toyota bZ4X. The new electric vehicle concept establishes the brand’s battery-electric vehicles as the first model will launch in the bZ series, announced the brand at the Shanghai Auto Show 2021. The bZ series stands for Beyond Zero. Under this electrification strategy the brand will launch 15 fully-electric vehicles in the international market. By 2021 Toyota will launch at least 7 BEVs with the bZ moniker.
The Toyota bZ4X concept features the e-TNGA platform and draws inspiration from the Toyota RAV4 crossover SUV. The 4X is the moniker also denotes the crossover SUVs four-wheel-drive capability. On the outside, the Toyota bZ4X concept features a closed grille with sleek air intakes on the lower bumper. The bumper features aircraft intake style aero ducts on the sides to channel air efficiently around the car. The bZ4X features rounded wheelarches with piano black trapezoidal arch cladding giving it robust SUV stance. The sides also get sharp cuts and crease lines and the rear comes with a sharply raked windscreen. The tail section features a wraparound LED taillamp, that gives the bZ4X a futuristic appearance.
The Toyota bZ4X features futuristic cockpit style interiors. The Toyota bZ4X features square steering with touch controls, depicting the cars futuristic design. The driver’s display sits far into the dashboard recesses to enable peripheral vision of the instruments without having to divert attention from the road. The central console is minimalist in design and features a large touchscreen infotainment display. A row of hot keys beloy the infotainment system control the air-conditioning. The drive select switch is a rotary unit and intuitive to use. The bridge like centre console also features another floor underneath stow away smartphones and also features USB charging. The powertrain details are still secret and likely to be revealed soon.
