Toyota Kirloskar Motor has been at the forefront in enabling Covid-19 related measures to safeguard its employees. The 2nd wave of Covid-19 in India is a very challenging situation for everyone. The entire medical infrastructure of the country is overwhelmed by the rising cases. Thus, TKM has come up with a host of new measures to promote its employees’ wellbeing during this pandemic.
To ensure uninterrupted access to all the necessary support, TKM is operating a medical hotline accessible around the clock. Members also get information about specialist doctors and hospitals and opt for ambulance services via this hotline. The company is also operating one-on-one counselling for members who want psychological support.
The Japanese car manufacturer is also providing its employees with a Covid home care kit. This kit includes all medical essentials like basic medicines, oximeter, masks, thermometer, sanitisers and more. Members can also leverage TKM’s home care support which will help in the treatment and conducting Covid-19 related testing. Given the shortage of oxygen concentrators in the country, TKM is making maximum efforts to arrange them for its employees. For hospitalization cases, the support team will help identify the availability of beds for the members. To ensure peace of mind for the members, TKM has arranged medical insurance of INR 11.50 lakh for the treatment of Covid-19 related ailments.
TKM also mentioned that in an unfortunate demise of any employees, the company would provide compensation equivalent to 3.5 years of wage of the employee. The company recently launched Covid Vaccination Centre at the workplaces to encourage its employees to take up vaccines. TKM is also extending its support to the frontline workers of the Government of Karnataka. To help curb the spread of the virus, Toyota had announced previously announced the temporary closure of its manufacturing facilities. It looks almost confirmed that Toyota will launch a new sedan which will be the rebadged Ciaz from Maruti Suzuki. Reports suggest that this new sedan will replace the Yaris, whose production has now stopped.
