Toyota Innova Hycross AVAS safety suite details

With the latest update, Toyota has added an Acoustic Vehicle Warning System safety feature on the Innova Hycross. This new safety feature uses external speakers that generate audible sound for pedestrians closing in at low speed.

The purpose of the AVAS safety feature is to alert nearby people who might not be aware of the hybrid MPV coming closer. It is a purposeful safety update for low-speed crashes that can possibly happen on congested city streets.

Moreover, this new safety feature is now available on three variants, which include the VX, VX (O), and ZX (O). Additionally, Toyota has also replaced the ‘Hybrid’ badge on the Innova Hycross with a new ‘HEV’ badge. This lines it up with the rest of the strong hybrid Toyota models like the new Camry sedan.

Apart from this, Toyota has not made any further changes to the car. Mind you, the Innova Hycross is equipped with two engine options that include a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 2.0-litre strong hybrid motor. Both of the engine options are mated to automatic gearbox only.

The prices for the 2025 model Innova Hycross start from Rs 19.09 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 31.34 lakh (ex-showroom) pan India. The sole rival of the Hycross is its rebadged version from Maruti, which is called Invicto.
