Toyota has announced that it has managed to sell over 1 lakh units of its Urban Cruiser and Glanza in India. Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the Glanza in June 2019 and the Urban Cruiser in September 2020 with phenomenal customer responses. The automaker stated that it has sold 65,000+ units of Glanza and 35,000+ units of the Urban Cruiser. Both cars achieved a significant role by catering to approximately 66% of first-time Toyota buyers in Tier II & III markets.
TKM stated that this achievement has also helped them garner a young-millennial audience who seek an exceptional automobile ownership experience. Along with providing the best balance of economically viable options, TKM also offers a “Best in Class” ownership experience. Customers can avail 3, specially designed, value-added service programs- Express Maintenance 60 (EM60), Q Service, Extended Warranty, and Service Packages (SMILES). Overall, TKM states that the Glanza has registered a 25% growth figure when compared to its sales in 2020.
The automaker currently operates 418 dealer outlets across the country and offers a virtual showroom for a simplified car-buying process. Via the digital showroom, TKM has digitized and integrated the key touchpoints in a customer’s purchase cycle, as a one-stop-shop solution. Toyota has maintained its sales momentum in India by offering attractive offers, low cost of ownership, and extended warranty.
Additionally, the Toyota Finance Service (TFS) has customized finance schemes thanks to partnering with several financial institutions. Therefore, customers can avail the easy finance options at competitive interest rates across various cities and towns in India. The brand also offers its Toyota U Trust facility for customers looking to upgrade, buy or sell their used cars.
Recently, Toyota Kirloskar Motor announced that it has commenced the pre-bookings of its highly anticipated Hilux pickup truck in India. With official prices being revealed in March 2022, customers can book the Hilux via Toyota’s official website or the dealership. TKM also stated that its aim is to procure 30% localization for its Hilux to keep costs low. The Hilux in India will utilize the Innovative Multipurpose Vehicle platform from the Innova Crysta MPV and the Fortuner SUV.
