Toyota has announced that the brand will extend the battery warranty on all its hybrid vehicles sold in India. Toyota Kirloskar Motors is extending the warranty on Self-Charging Hybrid Electric Vehicles – Toyota Camry and Vellfire. The new warranty extension will be applicable on these vehicles sold from 1st August 2021. Currently, Toyota offers a battery warranty of 3-years/100,000 km. But the new battery warranty will cover the battery for 8-years/160,000 km. The announcement also coincides with the World Nature Conservation Day observed globally on 28th July.
Toyota boasts that the 2021 hybrid electric vehicle battery warranty is the longest battery warranty in the industry. The new warranty will help customers shift from internal combustion engines to hybrid electric vehicles with ease and convenience. The extended warranty will also reduce the customer’s anxiety about the battery warranty. Furthermore, the brand also revealed that existing fourth-generation SHEV owners could also purchase similar warranty benefits at a special offer price.
Toyota also announced that the brand aims to achieve lifecycle zero carbon (CO2) emission for which the brand has announced the ‘Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050′ in October 2015. The test includes six ecological challenges, including life cycle zero CO2 and creating a net positive impact on the planet and society. Toyota also plans to develop advanced technologies and products to fulfil the needs of customers. The brand is also offering its customers innovative schemes and contribute to enhancing the experience.
Toyota Kirloskar Motors is planning for mass electrification not only in the Indian market but globally. Therefore, Toyota is hastening the pace of the adoption of electric and electrified vehicles. The brand believes all electrified vehicle technologies are needed to create a vibrant local EV manufacturing base. Toyota’s electrified vehicle strategy includes hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).
