Toyota has silently introduced a new limited edition version of their Etios Platinum sedan. The Etios is finding it hard to find private car buyers thanks to its cheap build quality & the new taxi image. This limited edition version of the Etios Platinum brings a few extras to wow buyers. Toyota has priced the Etios Platinum Limited Edition petrol for INR 7.83 lakh while the diesel asks for INR 8.93 lakh.
This limited edition version is based on the Etios Platinum VX grade.
Powering the Etios Platinum Limited Edition is a 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol motor producing 89 BHP of power and 132 Nm of torque. The diesel block is a 1.4L 4-cylinder unit producing 67 BHP of power and 170 Nm of torque. Both engines are matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox. No chances in mechanicals for this limited edition.
In terms of safety, this variant comes with dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, ISOFIX, rear parking sensor & keyless entry.
In terms of cosmetic changes on the outside, the Limited Edition gets new colour options such as Phantom Brown, Pearl White with Crystal Shine. Feature changes include double chrome grille, chrome bezel for fog lamps, body coloured door handles, side mouldings with chrome, B-pillar blacked out, chrome garnish on the boot & limited edition badging.
Inside, the Etios Platinum Limited Edition gets dual tone interiors with ivory & brown fabrix, new door trim fabric, new fabric on armrest, 3-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel with audi controls, chrome for the gear shift, chrome around the AC vents, 6.8″ touchscreen infotainment, power folding ORVMs, cooled glovebox, height adjustable driver seat & rear defogger.
Will this result in any spike in sales? Who knows. But its good to see Toyota trying hard to push the Etios sedan. In a few months, the new Toyota Yaris will pick up a fight with the likes of Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz & Hyundai Verna.
