Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced its ‘Toyota Dream Car Art Contest’ in India. It will provide an interface for children to put forward their ideas in a ‘car’ form to express an actionable change for the world. This Toyota Dream Car Art Contest will be a national level contest and it will be held from December 2020 to January 2021. The contest is open for all children aged below 15 and will be divided across three categories – category 1 is for children under 8 years, category 2 is for children aged between 8 and 11 years and category 3 is for children aged between 12 and 15 years.
The top 3 winners of the contest, in each category, will be offered to represent India at the World Contest which is scheduled to be held at Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan in March 2021. The winners will also get gift vouchers, certificates and will be eligible for an educational grant which would help them hone their skills. The participants will have to submit their entries to this website and children can use any standard drawing tool.
This competition ‘Toyota Dream Car Art Contest’ has been conducted since 2004 as a part of Toyota’s social contribution initiatives. In 2019, there were a total of 9,50,000 entries from 86 different countries all around the world. Since its inception back in 2014, there have been a total of 6.2 million entries from more than 100 countries who have shared the ideas of their dream car via artform.
Toyota India has a total of seven models on sale in India; Glanza, Urban Cruiser, Yaris, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, Camry and Vellfire. In the month of November, Toyota had reported that it sold about 8,500 units which was 31% less than that of October but 2% more than that of last year. In 2019 Toyota and Suzuki had signed an agreement in which they would be acquiring each other’s shares. In India, we have already seen this partnership come into play when Toyota launched the Glanza, which is a rebadged Suzuki Baleno and then the Toyota Urban Cruiser which is essentially the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Suzuki will also be supplying the Ciaz and Ertiga to Toyota in the near future.
