Three New Techo Electra Scooters launched in India

The Government’s NITI Aayog proposed the mass electrification in India which plans to ban all petrol-powered bikes under 150cc, which is a massive segment in the two-wheeler industry and since then, a lot of new electric mobility companies have entered the Indian market. One such company is the Pune-based brand Techo Electra. 

Techo Electra has launched three new eScooters in the Indian market – Neo, Raptor and Emerge. The price for the eScooters are as follows:-

  • Neo : INR 43,967
  • Raptor : INR 60,771
  • Emerge : INR 72,247

In terms of styling, the Neo which is the entry-level eScooter and the Raptor are similarly styled with an apron mounted LED headlight, handlebar bar cover-mounted turn signal lamps. The Neo gets a single colour finish while the mid-spec Raptor comes with a dual-tone finish with graphics and black nose applique on the Red colour model. Both the Neo and Raptor comes with telescopic front suspension and spring with hydraulic suspension on the rear.

The Neo comes with four colour options – White, Red, Black and Neon Yellow and the Raptor is offered in five colour options – White/Orange, Black/Orange, Green/Silver. Blue/Silver and Red. 

The top-spec Emerge features a neo-retro design language with an apron-mounted LED headlight with a ‘U’-shaped LED daytime running light, under the handlebar-mounted turn signal indicators, bottle holder on the inner panel, large under-seat space, telescopic front suspension, etc. The Emerge comes with three single-tone colours – Yellow, Red and Black. 

Other features that all three eScooters share are central locking, larger under seat space and USB charger. While the entry-level Neo and mid-spec Raptor come with a digital speedometer the top-spec Emerge gets a LCD digital speedometer. The base model Neo also misses out on the reverse parking function. The base model comes with drum brakes on both ends while the other two get Disc brake on the front wheel while a drum on the rear.

All the three models are powered by a 250W brushless direct current electric motor and the Neo gets a range of 60-65 km on a single charge, the mid-spec Raptor delivers 75-85 km on a single charge and the flagship Emerge comes with 70-80 km on a single charge.

The Techo Electra has a widespread dealership network in Maharashtra and the brand plans to start new showrooms in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
