This is it! 2024 Mahindra Thar 5-door SUV revealed in new spy shots

Mahindra is planning to launch the Thar 5-door soon in the Indian market. Earlier, spy shots of the SUV revealed that the Thar 5-door will come with premium features and is likely to slot above the 3-door model. In addition to this, the Mahindra Thar 5-door is also likely to feature model-specific interiors and will not just be an elongated version of the standard Thar. Now, the latest spy shots reveal the Thar 5-door sans camouflage. Sources also reveal key details on the upcoming Thar 5-door which includes new and distinguishing features on the exteriors as well as on the interiors.

Mahindra Thar 5-door – Features

According to spyshots, the new Mahindra Thar 5-door is likely to come with new LED projector headlamps with C-shaped LED DRLs and position lamps on the front fenders. The Thar 5-door is also likely to come with a new radiator grille and an updated front bumper which incorporates rounded fog lamps. The front windshield also reveal a camera and sensor array which could be for ADAS function. On the side, the Thar 5-door appears to come with a premium looking aluminium side step with rubberised grips and window sill mounted rear door handles. Furthermore, sources reveal that the Thar 5-door is likely to come with 19-inch alloy wheels on the higher-spec variants. The top-spec model is also likely to come with a panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instruments cluster and more.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door – Engine Options

Powering the Thar 5-door is likely to be the same engine that currently powers the standard Thar. This is likely to be the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine. In addition to this, rumours also suggest that the Thar 5-door is likely to come with a 1.5-litre diesel engine on entry level variants.

Mahindra is likely to introduce the Thar on the 15th of August 2024 and bookings for the model are likely to open soon. Rumours also suggest that the 5-door Thar is likely to be Christened “Armada”.
