Tesla Model Y in India – what do we know?

The test mule was heavily camouflaged, but keen observers noted several changes to the front fascia. The facelifted Model Y features a sleeker grille design, flanked by sharper LED headlights with a new lighting signature. The bumper has been reworked to improve aerodynamics, contributing to better efficiency and range. At the rear, the SUV sports updated tail lamps with a more angular design, along with a revised bumper and diffuser setup.

Inside, the facelift is expected to introduce Tesla’s latest interior updates, including a larger touchscreen infotainment system and improved materials. The cabin will likely feature Tesla’s minimalist design philosophy, with a focus on functionality and user experience. Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities are also expected to be part of the package, making the Model Y facelift a tech-forward offering.

Tesla Model Y range

Under the hood, the facelifted Model Y is likely to retain its dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, offering a range of up to 533 km on a single charge. Tesla may also introduce minor tweaks to the battery management system to enhance performance and efficiency.

The Model Y facelift is expected to launch in India by late 2025, aligning with Tesla’s plans to expand its footprint in the country. The SUV will compete with premium EVs like the Volvo XC40 Recharge, Kia EV6, and BMW iX, targeting buyers who prioritize performance, technology, and sustainability.
