Tesla, known for its futuristic electric vehicles has partnered with a Chinese multinational company called Tencent famous for internet-based services, games and artificial intelligence technologies. Tesla on its cars offers built-in arcade games for its customer to enjoy when they are parked or recharging their cars.
Tesla offers games such as Beach Buggy Racing 2, Missile Command & Asteroids and also plans to introduce new modern games such as Fallout which can be played on the central infotainment display. Now, the brand is also likely to bring internet-based Casino games in partnership with Tencent. As of now, there are no official reports as to which games would the carmaker be offering on the system but unconfirmed reports suggest it could be a popular Chinese game called Mahjong as well as Poker games such as Texas Hold’Em or Pot-Limit Omaha. Both Texas Hold’Em Poker and Omaha are most popular among Poker players and are fairly similar.
It is being speculated that all Tesla variants are likely to get these new updates through Tesla’s Over-The-Air (OTA) software update system. The update is also expected to be included on the brand’s entry-level car the Model 3.
The Tesla Model 3 comes with futuristic styling and gets up-swept LED headlamps, closed front fascia with air intakes on the lower air dam, 18-inch alloy wheels, flush-mounted door handles, a large glasshouse with a glass roof from front to back, LED tail lamps etc. On the interiors, the Tesla Model 3 features minimalistic design inside the cabin, a control mounted steering wheel, contoured seats, dual wireless smartphone charging pads, a multilayered dashboard and the highlight is the centrally mounted 15-inch touchscreen.
Powering the Tesla Model 3 is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with a claimed range of 402 km on a single charge on the standard trim and 522 km on the performance and long-range trim.
As of now, it is being reported that the gaming updates will only be available in the Chinese market and Tesla will roll-out the same for other markets soon. It is also important to note that the gaming feature will only be enabled when the car is parked for obvious safety reasons.
