Tata Zest waiting period touching 6 months

Call it success, or supply constraint, the Tata Zest now commands a waiting period of up to 6 months depending on the variant.

It has been just a couple of months since the launch, and the Zest looks all set to revive the flagging passenger car sales for Tata Motors. The Zest has already managed to outnumber the Honda Amaze in the month of October 2014 and is carving out market share in the compact sedan segment.

Currently, the short supply from vendors and also, insufficient production capacity is leading to this long waiting period. Tata Motors claims they have delivered over 10,000 units of the Zest since the launch and are now looking at capacity expansion to meet demand. The company claims that even the petrol Revotron motor is gaining popularity among customers.

Tata needs to work on this supply issue quickly, because there are a lot more products out there in the market, readily available; and at this stage, Tata Motors cannot afford to loose a potential customer.
