Tata Zest launched at Rs. 4.64 lakh

Tata Motors has launched the all-new Zest compact sedan in India at prices starting from Rs. 4.64 lakh for the base petrol and Rs. 5.64 lakh for the base diesel variant. (Prices are ex-showroom Delhi).

The Tata Zest is a feature rich compact sedan and will fight against the Hyundai Xcent, Maruti Dzire and the Honda Amaze. Exterior design might be typical of Tata, but now stands out and is not at all quirky to look at.

On the outside, the Zest gets projector headlamps, LED guide ring on the headlamp, alloy wheels on all variants, LED tail lamps, ORVMs with LED turn indicators, LED DRLs, chrome weather strip on windows and much more. The car will be offered in 6 body colours.

On the inside, the Zest gets an infotainment system powered by Harman along with 4 speakers and 4 tweeters, dual tone beige and black dashboard, fully automatic climate control, flip key, rear parking sensors, rear defogger, white backlit instrument cluster, height adjustable driver seat etc.

On the safety front, the Zest comes equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD & CSC, front and rear fog lamps, speed sensing door lock, seat belt with pre-tensioner and an engine immobiliser.

The Zest is powered by a 1.2L turbocharged petrol unit from the Revotron family producing 89 BHP of power and 140 Nm of torque. The diesel engine will be offered in two states of tune. One pumping out 74 BHP of power and 190 Nm of torque while the other pumping out 89 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque. The petrol motor and the 74 BHP diesel motor are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 89 BHP diesel is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a segment first 5-speed AMT as well.

Tata is confident about the Zest and will offer 3 years or 1 lakh kilometre warranty. Also, a 3 year or 45,000 kilometre AMC and 24×7 roadside assistance are offered for 3 years, for free.
