Tata Tigor EV launch confirmed for 31st August, 2021

Tata Motors has officially started accepting bookings for the upcoming Tigor EV. Customers interested in booking the vehicle can do so by paying the booking amount, which is INR 21,000. This compact sedan is dubbed to become a revolutionary product in the Indian electric car segment. The successful stint of the Tata Nexon EV was the stepping stone for EV cars in India. And with the introduction of Tigor EV, Tata Motors will further establish itself as the top electric car manufacturer in the country. Nexon EV currently has close to 70 per cent of the electric car segment market, which is quite an extraordinary figure.

What Can We Expect In The Upcoming New Tigor EV?

The Tigor EV is based on the facelift version of the Tigor that is currently on sale. And hence the exterior design remains almost the same. One of the key differentials is the blank-out front grille that comes with a Blue underline. The alloy wheels get a Blue insert that perfectly complements the front grille.

In terms of mechanicals and performance, everything is new under the hood. The sedan now gets the Ziptron technology same as the one present in the Nexon EV. The equipped motor receives a performance rating of 55kW of power and 170 Nm of torque. Powering the motor is a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that will reportedly deliver close to 300 km of range on a single charge. The charging time using a regular home charger is claimed to be around 8.5 hours for filling up from 0 to 80 per cent.

Features And Convenience

Tata Motors has loaded the car with a host of the latest features in terms of in-car entertainment. This includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment state, smart key with push-button start, electrically foldable ORVMs and over 30+ connected car features. The sedan gets corner stability control, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, hill ascent, and hill descent assist in terms of safety. Tata Motors has not officially announced the price of the vehicle. And we wait to see if Tata Motors can surprise all of us with some really aggressive pricing.
