Tata Tiago & Tiago NRG to get a facelift very soon

Tata is likely to update the Tiago which has been on sale in India for the past 3 years. Now a camouflaged test mule of the car has been spotted testing which indicates Tata is going to launch the update of the car soon. The Tiago comes in three forms, a standard Tiago hatchback, Tiago NRG which is a cross-hatch, and the performance-oriented Tiago JTP. Both the NRG and JTP are based on the standard model and according to a media report and spyshots that have surfaced the internet, Tata is updating the Tiago and Tiago NRG which are likely to be launched around June.

The facelift models will be updated with a few cosmetic changes such as new LED daytime running lights, a new grille and an upgraded 15-inch alloy wheels on the top-spec models. On the interior, both the Tiago and Tiago NRG are expected to be fitted with a larger 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay andAndroid Auto integration.  The cars will also get refreshed upholstery, trim colours and door panels.

In terms of safety, both cars are expected to be crash test compliant which will be enforced from July this year and both the models will be equipped with a driver side airbag, seat belt reminder, rear parking sensors, over speed alert and ABS as standard part of the pack across all variants.

In the engine department, both the Tiago and Tiago NRG are expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine which is currently in its BSIV form and is currently in service on the hatchbacks. The diesel option is expected to be discontinued by April next year when the BSVI emission norms are enforced. The engines are available in two fuel options which are as follows:-

Petrol- 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Revotron engine producing 85 PS of power @ 6000 RPM and 114 Nm of torque @ 3500 RPM coupled to a 5-speed manual or AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), with multi-drive modes.

Diesel- 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder, Revotorq engine producing 70 PS of Power @ 4000 RPM and 140 Nm of torque @ 1800-3000 RPM mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with multi-drive modes

Prices on the Tiago and Tiago NRG facelift will be slightly higher than the current models
