Tata Motors announces that its flagship SUV, the all-new Safari is the Official Partner for the upcoming Vivo IPL 2021. The company has been in partnership with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the past 4 years and when the tournament starts again, Tata Motors will aim to grab the attention and drive more engagement towards this iconic Tata Safari. VIVO IPL will start on the 9th of April in Chennai and the 6 other cities which will host the matches are Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. Under this partnership, Tata Motors will showcase the Safari at all the host stadiums.
Safari is one of the most renowned brands in the SUV segment in India. It was synonymous with colossal due to its massive road presence. The previous generation of the Safari was more rugged which was built on a body-on-frame chassis as opposed to the current gen’s monocoque. The highly acclaimed four-wheel-drive system is also missing as the current iteration of the Safari only comes with a front-wheel-drive option. The all-new Safari based on the new OMEGARC (Optimised Modular Efficient Global Advanced – Architecture) platform derived from Land Rover’s D8 platform shares a lot of resemblance with the Harrier. The FCA-sourced 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel which cranks out 170 HP of power and 350 Nm of torque powers the all-new Tata Safari.
Tata Motors is offering 7 trims in the manual version namely, XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, XZ+ and XZ+ Adventure Persona, whereas in the automatic gearbox there are a total of 4 trims, XMA, XZA, XZA+ and XZA+ Adventure persona. The price for the base trim starts at INR 14.69 (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to INR 21.45 (ex-showroom) for the top-spec XA+ Adventure persona. Customers have 4 colours to choose from – Tropical Mist, Orcus White, Royal Blue, and Daytona Grey. Customers’ review has been quite positive as Safai is selling in good numbers. Recently, a dealership in Delhi NCR, Tata Motors celebrated the success of the all-new Safari by delivering 100 units in a single day.
