Launched on October 18, 2021, the compact SUV has received an overwhelming response. Infact, it had become Tata Motors’ second best-seller after the Nexon. And now, there’s also a CNG variant coming along.
From launch the Punch SUV has clocked total wholesales of 186,535 units in the domestic market. And now with April 2023’s estimated wholesales of 10,930 units we get a total of 197,465 units.
The 100,000th Tata Punch was rolled out back in August 2022 from the Pune plant.
Considering the figures, Punch has averaged a monthly sales of 11,249 units in the January-April 2023 period.
The Punch’s FY2023 wholesales of 133,819 units brings in a robust 153 percent YoY growth. This has powered the Punch to fourth rank in India’s Top 30 utility vehicles last fiscal. We got the glimpse of Punch’s success in the first few months of launch itself
The Tata Punch has also set a new benchmark in the Indian PV industry. It has become the first SUV in India to achieve the fastest 100,000 sales milestone. This was come up in a span of just 10 months. The SUV’s peculiar design, robust performance and best-in-class 5-star safety are acting in favour.
The Tata Punch, is avaiable in both MT and AMT transmission options. This is a petrol-only model and available in 13 variants. Prices start from INR 629,000 for the base Pure variant through to the top-end Creative O(AT) which retails with a price tag of INR 10.46 lakh (on-road Delhi).
The feature-loaded SUV, gives the agility of a hatchback with the DNA of an SUV. Key features include seven-inch touchscreen system, digital instrument cluster, automatic headlights, auto AC, connected car tech, and cruise control.
Punch uses a 1.2-litre petrol engine, that’s claims to deliver a fuel efficiency of 18.82kpl in Manual and 18.97kpl in AMT. Furthermore, it also comes equipped with Tata’s iRA connected car technology, which offers over 25 features.
