Tata Motors is gearing up to give its compact SUV, the Tata Punch, a significant facelift. The internal combustion engine (ICE) variant of the Punch which has been launched in October 2021, is set to receive a mid-life update. This facelift is expected to align the ICE Punch with its recently launched electric counterpart, the Tata Punch EV.
The facelifted Tata Punch ICE is anticipated to feature a refreshed design that will bring it in line with Tata’s latest design language. Expect updates to the front and rear fascias, including a new grille, redesigned bumpers, and possibly new headlamp and taillamp clusters. These changes aim to give the Punch a more modern and aggressive look, enhancing its road presence.
Inside, the Punch ICE facelift is likely to see significant upgrades. One of the most notable changes will be the introduction of a larger 10.25-inch infotainment system, similar to the one found in the Punch EV. This system will support the latest connectivity features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, a fully digital instrument cluster is expected to replace the current analog-digital setup, providing a more futuristic and user-friendly interface.
Comfort and convenience features are also set to improve. The updated Punch may come with enhanced upholstery, improved cabin materials, and additional storage solutions. Tata Motors is known for its focus on safety, so the facelifted Punch is expected to continue offering a robust safety package, possibly with new advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
While the core powertrain options are likely to remain the same, the facelift could bring minor tweaks to improve efficiency and performance. The Punch ICE currently offers a 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine, and this is expected to continue. The engine puts out 86.6 bhp and 115 Nm of torque. However, Tata might introduce a CNG variant to cater to the growing demand for alternative fuel options.
Tata Motors has confirmed that the Punch ICE facelift will be launched in the second half of 2025. This update comes as part of Tata’s strategy to keep its product lineup fresh and competitive in the rapidly evolving automotive market.
