Tata Motors has announced that the brand has received a full 5-star safety rating for both its Punch.EV and Nexon.EV cars at the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). The Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Mr Nitin Gadkari also congratulated Tata Motors on achieving this milestone. The Hon’ble Minister also reiterated that Bharat NCAP is setting new car safety standards and will also realise the Government of India’s vision to make the country the global automobile hub, also increasing the car’s export worthiness in International markets.
The Tata Punch.EV has scored 31.46 point out of the maximum 32 points for the adult occupant protection (AOP). In addition to this, the brand revealed that the electric vehicle scored 45 out of 49 points for the child occupant protection (COP). Tata Motors claims that the score for the Punch.EV is the highest ever achieved by any vehicle till date. The Punch.EV has found more than 10,000 homes in the Indian market and over 35% owners are from the rural markets.

The Tata Nexon.EV has scored 29.86 points out of the maximum 32 points for AOP. For COP the Nexon.EV scored 44.95 points out of a maximum of 49 points. The brand also claims that now with both the Nexon.EV and Punch.EV, the Tata’s SUV range is now the safest and it is now the only OEM to have 5-star rated SUVs in both the Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP tests. Tata has sold more than 68,000 Nexon.EVs in the Indian market since its launch in 2020.

In addition to this, higher-spec variants also get features such as 360-camera, blind spot monitor, electric parking brake, all four discs, front parking sensors, hill descent control and SOS calling.
Tata Motors announced that with the Punch.EV and the Nexon.EV makes the brand one of the first OEMs to produce India’s safest electric vehicles. This has also now set new benchmarks for all passenger vehicles, especially electric vehicles.
