Tata Nexon will get a new air conditioning control centre

Written by Kanad Kalasur

The Tata Nexon is awaiting a new facelift pretty soon. Tata Motors has been road testing the car and few details of the car have already leaked. Now, the Nexon Facelift is said to get a new AC control unit. The details of the same were leaked via a patent application filed by Tata.

Updated AC control unit in the Tata Nexon Facelift

At first glance, this new unit looks very different from the current Tata car’s AC controls. It is apparent that Nexon will be the first car to get this fresh control panel. It has a hybrid touch-sensitive interface.

From the image, we can see that there is a temperature toggle and a blower control. This means the new Nexon will have a single zone air conditioning. The one on the left is for the blower, while the right one controls the temperature. Between these two, there is a what appears to be touch sensitive slider for fan speed.

Other controls revealed in the AC control panel

The AC panel sits between two sets of touch controls. The top ones house the Sport mode, front and rear fog lamps, Eco mode, hazard lights, boot release, door lock, 360-degree camera and what appears to be an auto start/stop button. Notice that the hazard light switch comes with a different tactile pattern to ensure that the driver can activate it without taking eyes off the road.

At the bottom, the buttons are for the traction control, air circulation, front and rear defogger, one unknown switch, AC OFF button and AC on or Auto AC button.

Tata Nexon Facelift : What do we know so far?

The refreshed Tata Nexon will get a new modern, sharper exterior with a split headlamp design. There could be an LED light bar across the front end as well. The rear could house new slim-design LED tail lamps.

On the inside, the car is expected to come with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. Alongside, we can also expect a digital instrument cluster. There will be a new two-spoke steering with an illuminated logo inspired from the Curvv concept.
