Tata Nexon prices increased, diesel variants reduced

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Tata Motors has hiked the prices of Nexon across the range. Furthermore, the company has also discontinued some of the diesel variants. The increase in price now makes the Nexon costlier by up to INR 11,000. All the variants are not affected by the price hike. The diesel top-spec XZA+ (O) Dark Edition will retail at INR 11,000 more than it was before. Given the slim demand for diesel vehicles in the country, Tata Motors has decided to pull out some variants. And hence, customers planning to buy the diesel trim of XE, XZ, XMA, XM (S), and XZA+ S will now have to look for something else.

Tata Nexon – A Brief Overview

Given the demand for SUVs in the market, Tata Nexon is currently one of the top choices for customers. The SUV gets all the latest features as per current times and also comes with a wide range of trim and powertrain options. Add to this, the Global NCAP rating of perfect five stars is finally resonating well with the Indian customers. After so many years, finally, the safety standard of the vehicle is playing a crucial role in customers’ decision-making. And this is very much appreciable, given the number of deaths due to road accidents in India. In addition to this, the current narrative of ‘Vocal For Local’ is also helping Tata Motors greatly. Factors like these cumulatively add to make Tata Nexon a perfect offering.

Tata Motors has also provided regular updates to the product to keep up with the competition. The recent introduction of the Dark Edition has made the SUV look even more slick and striking. Other recent upgrades include a new 5-spoke alloy, replacing physical buttons and knobs on the center console with touch input, and more.

Other Options In This Segment

Currently, the sub-4 meter SUV is one of the most competitive segments in the country. Customers have a wide range of models to choose from. The top choices giving a tough fight to Nexon in terms of sales include the likes of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mahindra XUV300, Honda WR-V, and the Nissan Magnite.
