Tata Motors recently updated the Nexon portfolio and added the new XM (S) trim to both the Manual and AMT automatic options taking the number of variants offered on the Nexon to a whopping number of 36. Yes, the Tata Nexon is being offered with 36 trim option giving the customer the widest choice of options and making the SUV available with the highest number of options available on any car today in the Indian market.
The Tata Nexon is currently being offered in the following trim options:-
Petrol Manual – XE, XM, XM(S), XZ, XZ+, XZ+ DT, XZ+(S), XZ+ DT(S), XZ+(O) and XZ+ DT(O). The Diesel Manual option replicates the same trims mentioned above but offers a diesel powertrain and a manual gearbox, taking the total to 20 in the Manual Transmission option. In the AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) option which is available on both the petrol and diesel engines, the Nexon is offered in the – Petrol AMT – XMA, XMA(S), XZA+, XZA+ DT, XZA+ (S), XZA+ DT(S), XZA+(O) and XZA+ DT(O), a total of 8 variants in the Petrol AMT option. The Diesel AMT option comes with – XMA, XMA(S), XZA+, XZA+ DT, XZA+ (S), XZA+ DT (S), XZA+ (O) and XZA+ DT (O), a total of 8 trims in the Diesel AMT option, taking the total count of Petrol Manual, Diesel Manual, Petrol AMT and Diesel AMT to 36.
The latest addition, XM (S) trim that has been made available in Petrol Manual, Diesel Manual and both petrol and diesel AMT options offers features such as an Electric Sunroof, Automatic Headlamps, Rain Sensing Wipers and Steering Mounted Controls in addition to highlights offered on the XM trim such as Projector Headlights, LED daytime running lights, ConnectNext Infotainment System by Harman and safety features such as dual front airbags, Hill Hold Control, Electronic Stability Program and Multi- Drive Modes (Eco, City and Sport).
Powering the Nexon is a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine that produces 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual transmission and an option of a 6-speed AMT gearbox. Optionally a diesel motor, a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre turbocharged Revotorq diesel engine that produces 110 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque available in a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed AMT transmission.
