Tata Motors had previously revealed that their new range of electric cars will be backed by the Ziptron technology. Now, the Indian car manufacturer has stated that it will be the Nexon EV which will be the 1st car to be launched with Ziptron technology. The Nexon EV is expected to be launched in Q4 of 2019-20 and celebrities Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar will start promoting this electric crossover by driving around India and sharing their experience with the Nexon EV.
Tata Motors has revealed that the Nexon electric vehicle with Ziptron technology will cost between INR 15 – 17 lakh.
The Nexon EV will be available for purchase to personal buyers between January – March 2020 and it will be well equipped in driving more sales backed by a reasonable driving range. The Nexon EV promises to deliver 300 km of driving range and will come with a high voltage system. The Nexon EV will offer a more zippy performance compared to the petrol and diesel counterparts and the battery system will come with an 8-year warranty and it will be dust and water proof with IP67 rating.
The Nexon EV will come with new generation Lithium-Ion batteries, permanenet magnet AC motors and an integrated motor controller which will help keep the vehicle weight in check.
The promotional drive campaign with the celebrities will be done between Manali to Leh highlighting the cars capabilities off-road and how the electric drive system works in such tough terrain. Driving through high altitude Himalayan passes and some broken roads which many cars cannot drive over will be an ideal promotional campaign for the Nexon EV.
Tata Motors reveals that backed by the new Ziptron tech, the acceleration feel from the Nexon EV will be unmatched, while all this will happen without a sip of fuel which means no tailpipe and exhaust emissions. Since there is no fuel burning motor under the hood, the Nexon EV will deliver a quiet and comfortable drive with negligible NVH levels. The car will come with 30+ connected car features also appealing to the tech savvy buyers. With fast charging support, it will be easy to have the Nexon EV ready to hit the road in just a few hours after having the battery drained completely.
