Tata Motors has once again demonstrated its commitment to safety with the latest Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP) crash test results. The Tata Nexon has achieved a 5-star safety rating for both petrol and diesel variants.
The Tata Nexon, tested in its top-spec Fearless Diesel and Petrol AMT variants, scored 29.41 out of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 43.83 out of 49 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP). The sub-compact SUV performed exceptionally well in both the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, receiving “Good” and “Adequate” ratings for all body parts of the driver and co-passenger.
The Nexon is equipped with six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and seat belt reminders for all seats, ensuring comprehensive safety for all passengers. These advanced safety features, combined with the robust structural design, contributed to the high scores in the BNCAP crash tests.
The 5-star BNCAP rating is expected to boost consumer confidence in the new Tata Nexon, as safety is a top priority for many buyers. Tata Motors’ consistent performance in crash tests, including previous models like the Harrier and Curvv, has established a strong reputation for safety in the Indian market. This latest achievement is likely to attract more customers who prioritize safety in their vehicle purchase decisions.
The Tata Nexon.EV was tested earlier in May and it also had scored a 5-star rating. Likewise, the Tata Curvv and the Curvv.EV have also secured 5-stars on their tests.
