Tata Motors is getting super aggressive to increase their market share in the passenger vehicle segment. Their new range of cars are not just good looking, but are convincing enough resulting in decent sales numbers. Now, it is being said that the brand is working on a new micro-SUV which will slot below the Nexon compact-SUV.
This new micro-SUV is codenamed as the X445 / Hornbill and will be a rival to the likes of Mahindra KUV100 & Maruti Suzuki Ignis. This will be basically a hatchback on stills and could share components with the upcoming 45x premium hatchback. Although much is not known about this product, from one of Tata Motors’ promotional videos, we could have got a small preview of the design of this car.
The image above hints at how the upcoming X445 Hornbill micro-SUV could look like. Styling is similar to the Mahindra KUV100 & Maruti Suzuki Ignis, but the wheel arches and wheel sizes are much more prominent giving the car an imposing appearance. Also, the front bumper looks aggressive styled to give it a strong SUV appearance. It does sport a tall design, which will allow for maximum roominess, a typical trait of Tata cars.
Under the hood, you can expect the 1.2L Revotron petrol and the 1.05L Revotorq diesel motor. Both getting Eco & Sport driving modes along with AMT as an option. However, all these details are mere speculation for now.
Tata Motors has made no official announcement about the X445 Hornbill yet.
