Tata Motors will plant a sapling for every commercial vehicle sold & serviced

The largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in the Indian market, Tata Motors has announced the launch of a new initiative called ‘Go Green’ which is in-line with the brand’s commitment towards environmental stability. Under the Go Green initiative, Tata Motors will plant a sapling on the sale of every new commercial vehicle. Furthermore, the brand also promises to plant a sapling for every new customer who gets their vehicle serviced at the brand’s authorized service centre. 

The company will not just plant the sapling but also present the customer with a certificate and a link of the geotagged location of the plantation. This allows the customer to monitor the plants status at all times. Under the initiative, the company will also ensure that the newly planted saplings are kept in the best health. 

The brand has also announced that it will be planting a diverse species of plants which includes medicinal, fruit-bearing and native trees. The saplings will be planted across various location in the country spread over 10 different states adding to the green cover of the country. 

The brand also boasts that it is one of the leading companies that creates a sustainable positive environmental impact in the country. The brand is committed to reducing the environmental impact, by advancing environmental innovation. The brand has also launched the BS6 product range which reduces tailpipe emissions significantly. Tata Motors is also working towards a low carbon strategy and aims to source 100% renewable electricity by 2030.

To further strengthen its position as a clean and environmentally friendly brand, Tata Motors has launched the country’s first home-grown long-range SUV that Tata Nexon EV of which more than 2,200 units have already been sold, further reducing tailpipe emissions. 

In other news, in November 2020, Tata Motors registered sales of 21,641 units in the passenger vehicle segment and 26,218 units of total domestic sales in the commercial vehicle segment. The brand also exported 1,764 units of commercial vehicles taking the total domestic & international market stood at 49,653 units in November 2020.
