Tata Motors India has signed an MoU with Lithium Urban Technologies. As a part of this, the carmaker will deploy 5,000 Xpres T Electric Sedans, across the country, for employee transportation. The deliveries will start in a phase-wise manner with a target to complete deployment by next year. Tata Xpres T is the perfect choice for fleet owners planning to opt for electric vehicles.
In addition to this, Tata Motors also mentioned that Xpres T Electric sedan will ensure a low cost of ownership. This MoU is a great step towards faster adoption of EVs in the commercial mobility segment. As of today, there are over 24,000 EVs from Tata Motors plying on the Indian roads, with more getting added as we write this.
This is not the first time that Lithium Urban Technologies has tied up with Tata Motors. Back in 2019, the company placed its first order of 500 units. Now with the order of 5,000 units, Lithium Urban Technologies is taking a massive step to electrify its fleet. Furthermore, the company is also optimistic about the future and looks forward to unleashing the power of Electric mobility in India. Tata Motors is a significant player in the EV space and currently commands a market share of over 87 per cent.
In 2021, Tata Motors came up with the Xpres brand that will exclusively cater to fleet customers. Xpres-T is the first vehicle under this brand which is essentially an electric version of the Tigor. The sedan is available in 2 range options, 213 km and 165 km and gets a battery pack of 21.5 kWh and 16.5 kWh, respectively. Tata Motors claims charging from 0 to 80 per cent takes 90 mins and 110 mins, respectively, with the use of a fast charger. Meanwhile, one can also use the regular 15A socket charging. In terms of safety, the Xpres-T gets dual airbags and ABS with EBD as standard across variants. Key highlights of the sedan include a premium black theme interior with standard automatic climate control.
