Tata Motors has commenced deliveries of its all-electric Ace EV. The electric version of the popular Tata Ace is positioned as a sustainable mobility solution for intra-city cargo movement. The electric vehicle is looking to revolutionise the last mile delivery segment.
The first lot Ace EV were delivered to e-commerce, FMCG and courier companies along with their logistics service providers like Amazon, Delhivery, DHL (Express & Supply Chain), FedEx, Flipkart, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, MoEVing, Safexpress and Trent Limited.
Following the success of the Ace LCV, Tata Motors has designed the electric version of the popular light truck. Unveiled back in May 2022, the Ace EV was co-developed with inputs from its users and real world robust trials. To make things even more better for the first adopters of the Ace EV, Tata Motors has launched some initiatives like set-up of dedicated Electric Vehicle Support Centres, launching the Tata Fleet Edge app, and development of charging infrastructure.
At the time of development, Tata Motors had announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amazon, BigBasket, City Link, DOT, Flipkart, LetsTransport, MoEVing and Yelo EV to deliver 39,000 Ace EVs.
The Tata Ace EV is based on Tata’s EVOGEN platform. The company claims a range of 154 km on one charge. There is a single electric motor that is rated at 36 BHP and 130 Nm.
The Ace EV gets a light-weight container and has cargo volume of 208 cubic feet. Tata claims that under full load, the Ace EV can manage grades upto 22%
The Ace EV is based on Tata’s EVOGEN platform and is said to offer a certified range of 154 km on a single charge. It is powered by a single electric motor that generates 36 BHP and 130 Nm.
