Indian automotive giant Tata Motors has announced its annual sales report for February 2022, showcasing its overall global performance. Combining the sales for both domestic and international markets, Tata Motors sold a total of 77,733 vehicles in February 2022. For comparison, the automaker sold 61,258 units in total during February 2021, marking a 26.89% increase in growth. Tata Motors is actively working towards expanding its portfolio across all segments and catering to the needs of its customers.
Tata Motors’ annual sales report dictates that it sold a total of 73,875 vehicles domestically, marking a 27% Y-o-Y growth. For comparison, the automaker sold a total of 58,366 units in the domestic market during February of 2021. The sales report also showcases the total sales report of the automaker’s commercial vehicles across 4 segments in India. In the M&HCV category, Tata Motors sold a total of 10,233 units during February 2022, marking 18% of growth.
Previously, the automaker sold a total of 8,664 units in the segment during the same time period of 2021. Meanwhile, Tata Motors sold 5,599 units in the I&LCV segment, whereas it sold 5,624 units in 2021. In the Passenger Carriers segment, Tata Motors sold 1,759 units, whereas it sold 1,247 units in 2021. This marks a 41% increase in growth between sales of February 2021 and February 2022.
Finally, the SCV cargo and pickup segment depict a total sale of 16,303 units compared to 2021’s 15,606 units. In total, Tata Motor’s CV domestic sales amount to 33,894 units compared to 31,141 units, a 9% growth increase. The sales report also depicts the total exports, which stand at 3,458 units, compared to 2021’s 2718 units. This amounts to a 35% increase in growth for exports conducted by Tata Motors during the entire year.
Additionally, Domestic sales of MH&ICV in February 2022, including trucks and buses, stood at 14,596 units. For comparison, Tata Motors sold a total of 12,825 units in the same segment during February of 2021. Lastly, total sales for MH&ICV Domestic and International Business, including trucks and buses, stood at 16,306 units. Within the same segment, Tata Motors sold a total of 13,964 units during the same timeframe of 2021.
The automaker’s sales report showcases that it sold 37,135 units in the PV ICE segment in February 2022. During the same time last year, Tata Motors sold 26,733 units marking a 39% increase in growth. However, the company sold 2,846 units from the PV EV category in comparison to 492 units from last year.
This entails a massive 478% increase in growth by Tata Motors within the segment in terms of sales. Overall, Tata Motors sold a total of 39,981 units in PV Domestic compared to 27,225 units from 2021. This marks a significant 47% increase in sales growth for the company across the country.
