Tata Motors rolls out 1000th Nexon EV (Electric Vehicle) from Pune Plant

Tata Motors has reached an important milestone today by rolling out the 1000th Nexon EV (Electric Vehicle) from the brand’s manufacturing facility in Pune. The breakthrough has been achieved in just over 6-months after the commercial launch of the vehicle in the Indian market depicting the market demand for electric vehicles with a long-range and an affordable price tag.

The Tata Nexon EV boasts to be the most prefered electric car in India and it is the bestselling 100% pure electric SUV in the segment and commands a market share of 62% in EVs in Q1FY21. The high market share could be due to the electric vehicle’s ARAI tested range of 312 km and its price which starts at INR 13.99 lakh ex-showroom, India. 

Tata Motors has also launched a new subscription model for electric vehicles (EV) flagship electric vehicle, the Nexon EV at an all-inclusive fixed rental starting at just INR 41,900/- per month, enabling prospective EV buyers more accessibility to acquire the Tata Nexon EV. Customers can select from tenures that start from a minimum period of 18 months to 24 and 36 months and the service is being offered in 5 major cities – Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, in its initial phase. 

The Tata Nexon is powered by an IP67 standards-compliant Liquid-Cooled Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor coupled to a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion liquid-cooled battery pack that can develop 129 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque matched to a single-speed transmission. 

The battery can be recharged using a 15A socket at home which takes 8 hours from 20% to 100% using the regular charger but the Tata Nexon EV is can be charged to 80% in 60 minutes using a fast charger. 

Tata Motors is offering 8 years / 1.6L km warranty on the battery and motor of the Nexon EV. The brand will also offer 24×7 roadside and emergency assistance for the Nexon EV customers.
