Tata Motors has released its sales report for the Q3 of FY22. The carmaker posted a total sales of 1,99,633 vehicles that include both domestic as well as international sales. The figure for Q3 of FY21 stood at 1,58,218 units. In the domestic category sales, Tata Motors sold a total of 66,307 units for December 2021. Meanwhile, the same for December 2020, stood at 53,430 units, which translates to a growth of 24 per cent. In terms of quarterly results, Tata Motors sold a total of 1,89,531 units for Q3 FY22.
Meanwhile, the figure for Q3 FY21 stood at 1,50,961 units. This translates to a growth of 26 per cent. In the domestic, commercial vehicle segment, Tata Motors posted a total sales of 90,529 units for Q3 FY22. This was higher by around 10 per cent when compared to the same period last.
Tata Motors mentioned that the demand for SCV and LCV is on the rise. This is due to the rise in the need for last-mile delivery and the growing demand for e-commerce. Moreover, the construction and infrastructure activity is also on the rise by various state and central governments. Furthermore, there is also a significant increase in the activities like mining, petroleum-oil-lubricants and allied industries, thus facilitating the demand for M&HCVs. The total sales of MHCVs in the Q3 of FY22 stood at 26,329 units.
Meanwhile, the same for Q3 FY21 stood at 21,476 units. MHCVs include both trucks and busesTata Motors also expressed concerns about the rising cases of Covid across the country. In addition to this, the shortage in the supply of semiconductors also continues to affect production. Tata Motors mentioned that the demand could potentially decrease in the upcoming months.
In the passenger vehicle segment, Tata Motors posted a total sales of 35,299 units in December 2021. This figure breaks down as 33,044 units for ICE and 2,255 units for EV. The figure for December 2020 stood at 23,535 units. This translates to a growth of 50 per cent. In terms of quarterly performance, Tata Motors sold a total of 99,002 units for Q3 FY22. Meanwhile, the figure for Q3 FY21 stood at 68,806 units, thus resulting in a growth of 44 per cent.
