Tata Motors organized ‘Mileage Challenge Rally’ for Nexon EV in Pune

Tata Motors had organized a first-in-the country event where the Tata Nexon EV’s range was put to test. This event took place in Pune, where over 200 owners of the Nexon EV and their family members had an amazing time learning more about their electric vehicle.

The event was aimed towards spreading the knowledge and awareness about the good driving habits, charging techniques which would help yield the best mileage from the Tata Nexon EV. The event was flagged off from the Hotel Sayaji and spanned across a total of 100 km and was scheduled for about 2 hours. In the event, an owner drove his Nexon EV for 376 km under single charge and thus claimed the 1st prize for achieving the maximum range among all the other participants. All the owners and participants were very positive about the event and learnt a lot about the capabilities of their electric car.

Nexon EV is powered by a 129 PS permanent-magnet AC motor which is driven by a 30.2 kWh lithium battery which can propel the car from 0 to 100 kmph in just under 10 seconds. Tata Motors claims that the battery comes with IP67 standards and thus, is protected from dust and water. The standard charger provided with the car takes about 8-9 hours to charge the battery to its maximum capacity meanwhile, Tata Motors is also providing a fast charger as an option which has the capability to charge the batteries from 0 to 80% in under an hour. The Nexon EV is offered with three variants namely; XM, XZ+ and XZ+ LUX and the price starts from INR 13.99 lakhs and goes all the way up till INR 16.25 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Signature Blue/Silver shade is exclusive for the Nexon EV meanwhile the other two colour options include Moonlight Silver and Glacier White.

Tata Nexon EV was launched back in January 2020, and since then it has been a major success. In fact, it was the top-selling electric vehicle in India for the year 2020. Tata Motors reported 2,602 units of sales for the Nexon EV in the last calendar year which translates to about 63% of the market share.
