Tata Motors Limited in January 2023 sold 81,069 vehicles in total

Tata Motors, which is currently India’s third largest car maker, has released its sales report. For Jan 2023, the carmaker posted a total sales of 47,990 units. This figure results in an 18 percent YoY growth from 40,780 units sold in Jan 2022. MoM sales too improved by 20 percent. For your reference, the sales figure for December 2022 stood at 40,045 units

Tata Motors Sales In Detail

Tata Nexon

Tata Motors’ Nexon SUV was again the top seller. The SUV was at the top of sales charts. Sales of the compact SUV stood at 15,567 units in Jan 2023. This figure is up from 13 percent from 11,816 units sold in January 2022. This figure also meant that Tata Nexon was the highest selling SUV in India in the past month.

Tata Punch

Recently launched Tata Punch too is raking up significant sales. Sales for Tata Punch stood at 12,006 units in Jan 2023. This is up from 10,027 units sold in Jan 2022. The MoM sales improved by 13 percent over 10,586 units sold in Dec 2022.

Tata Tiago

Tata Tiago sales grew significantly. The sales figure was up by 74 percent on a year-over-year basis to 9,032 units in January 2023. The MoM sales also improved by 49 percent from 6,052 units sold in Dec 2022.

Tata Altroz

Altroz was the 4th most sold product from Tata Motors. The sales growth stood at 25 percent on a YoY basis and at 40 percent MoM.

Tata Tigor

Sales of the Tata Tigor too improved by 5 percent. The YoY growth grew to 3,106 units from 2,952 units sold in Jan 2022. With the above sales figure Tata Tigor stood at second position in the sub 4 meter sedan sales list.

Tata Harrier And Safari

Tata Motors flagship products, Harrier and Safari are not doing enough. The sales for both the SUVs dropped by 42 percent year-over-year. The sales came down from 1,572 units in Jan 2023 down from 2,702 units sold in Jan 2022. MoM sales also fell to 26 percent from 2,128 units sold in Dec 2022. Tata Safari on the other hand sold a total of 1,032 units in the past month.
