Not really a car that’s been in the news off late, but Tata Motors has launched a special edition ‘Zest Premio’ in India with 13 new features. Tata Motors is celebrating the sales of over 85,000 units for the Zest compact-sedan, and hence, the Zest Premio makes a debut. Available on sale from March 2018, this limited edition variant has been priced at INR 7.53 lakh (ex-showroom), for the diesel variant.
Tata Motors is proud that the Zest is the only compact sedan with 4 stars received by the Global NCAP in crash tests. Although the new Tigor is taking care of sales and attracting new buyers, the brand is not giving up on the Zest which still finds a few buyers.
The Zest Premio comes with features such as dual tone roof in gloss black, piano black insets on ORVMs, tan finished mid pad on the dashboard, titanium grey or platinum silver exterior paint options, Premio badge, smoked headlamps, piano black hood strip, piano black boot lid garnish, silver wheel covers and an optional piano black spoiler. You also get new seat fabric with Premio branding. For infotainment, you get a touchscreen audio system from Harman.
Powering the Zest Premio will only be the 1.3L, famed, 4-cylinded, BSIV compliant Quadrajet engine producing 75 PS of power and 190 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Zest sells in a segment to rival its own sibling, the Tata Tigor and other cars such as Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze & Ford Aspire.
