Tata Motors has announced that the brand will be increasing the price of its commercial vehicle range. The Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle range will become dearer by around 2% depending on the model. The price hike will take effect from 1 st October 2021. The brand has revealed that the price hike is in line with the continued rise in the cost of commodities, such as steel and precious metals.
Minimising the Price Hike
According to Tata Motors, part of the rise in the input cost needs to be passed on to the customer through an increase in the price of the products. The company has also revealed that to minimise the increase in price, Tata motors have been absorbing a certain portion of the cost at various levels of manufacturing. In addition to the absorption of the input cost at various levels, the brand is also striving to minimise the total cost of ownership for its customers and fleet owners.
New Launches
Tata Motors recently launched a new commercial vehicle with a CNG powertrain. Yes, the iconic commercial vehicle Tata 407 now comes with a CNG fuel variant. The new Tata 407 with the CNG variant claims to provide 35% more profit compared to the diesel version. The popular commercial vehicle is not only known for its durability and reliability but also its high-load carrying capacity. At the price of INR 12.07 lakh ex-showroom, the Tata 407 comes with a 10-feet load deck.
The new Tata 407 comes with a 3.6-litre SGI technology engine. The engine produces 85 PS of power and 285 Nm of torque. The truck comes with a 180 litres fuel capacity which allows reduced downtime and improves the cost of ownership for both owners and fleet operators. The brand also offers 3 years or 3 lakh kilometres of warranty for peace of mind to the customer.
