Tata Motors, announces the sales report for April 2021. The company garnered a cumulative sales of 41,858 units including both domestic and international market. The total domestic sales for Tata Motors stood at 39,530 units, down from 66,609 units in March 2021. With reference to year-on-year growth, there is no comparison as for April 2020, there were zero sales. For the domestic passenger vehicle segment, the figure stood at 25,095 units for the given month. According to the brand, key vehicle launches like Altroz and Safari are helping boost the sales figures.
The demand for electric vehicles has been in high demand recently. There are multiple reasons to support this fact. The key main reason is the increasing petrol prices in the country, which is compelling the citizens to choose electric vehicles. By the end of March 2021, Nexon sold a total of 4,000 units just 14 months after its debut. As of now, Nexon has a total market share of 64 per cent in the electric car segment. The ARAI-rated driving range of 312 km on a single charge is enough for city and short weekend trips. The range of Nexon EV starts from INR 13.99 lakh for the base trim meanwhile the top-spec variant costs INR 16.40 lakhs.
For the previous financial year i.e FY 2020-2021, the company registered a total sales of 2,22,025 units. This makes Tata Motors the third on the list of passenger vehicle sales for FY 2020-2021. Products like Nexon are already selling to good numbers and will continue to propel the sales figure. According to rumours, Tata Motors is working on launching the electric version of the Altroz and Tiago. The company is also working on a mini-SUV project codenamed ‘HBX’. It looks clear that testing in the final stages as the car has been spotted multiple times now.
