Tata Motors clocked 80,633 unit sales in July 2023

Tata Motors has disclosed its sales data for July 2023. The company reported a combined total of 80,633 units sold in domestic and international markets. This represents a marginal decline of 1.41 per cent when compared to July 2022, during which Tata achieved sales of 81,790 units. The overall passenger vehicle sales for July 2023, inclusive of electric vehicles (EVs), stand at 47,689 units. This indicates a slight increase from the 47,636 units sold in the corresponding month of the previous year.

The remarkable growth in electric vehicle sales, witnessing an impressive year-over-year increase of 53 per cent. In July 2023, Tata Motors successfully sold 6,329 electric vehicles, in contrast to the 4,151 units sold in July 2022.

Commercial Vehicle Sales

Conversely, total commercial vehicle sales experienced a minor decline of 4 per cent compared to the same period in the prior year. In July 2023, the company managed to sell 32,944 commercial vehicles, compared to the 34,154 units sold in July 2022.

In the domestic market, Tata Motors achieved sales of 78,844 units in July 2023. This figure is slightly lower than the 78,978 units sold in the corresponding month of the previous year. But there was a positive trend in domestic sales of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (MH&ICV). This category, encompassing trucks and buses, displayed growth, with the company selling 13,291 MH&ICV units in July 2023, up from the 12,012 units sold in July 2022.

In summary, Tata Motors observed mixed trends in its sales performance for July 2023. Despite a slight dip in total sales compared to the same period in the previous year, positive strides were evident in the electric vehicle segment, demonstrating substantial year-over-year growth. Furthermore, domestic MH&ICV sales displayed healthy improvement. With new models coming in, we expect sales to increase further in the coming days. Tata Motors has been doing pretty well and the future looks quite bright.
