Tata Motors changes Tiago service interval from 6 months to 1 year / 15,000 km

The entry-level hatchback from Tata Motors, the Tiago has got its service interval changed from 6 months to 1 year/ 15,000 km, whichever comes first. Tata has given the Tiago a lot of updates since it was launched back in 2016 i.e. before 4 years from now. Tiago got a facelift update in January of this year. This update saw a major change in the design of the vehicle and some instrumental changes in the interior as well.

The front grille is now finished in gloss black with a chrome strip. The headlights shape is updated and integrated with a sleek new bumper. Tiago now comes with round fog lamps and an revamped air dam. The ORVMs and B-pillars are finished in black as well. The alloys are updated to a dual-tone finish but the tyre size and profile remain unchanged. For the interiors, the main highlight features are power-folding ORVMs, automatic climate control, driving modes, digital instrument cluster and much more. The updated 17.78 cm touchscreen infotainment system supports both Andriod Auto and Apple CarPlay. This system comes with 4 speakers + 4 tweeters for the best sound experience.

The new Tiago has only one engine option i.e. the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, BS-6 compliant petrol block that makes 86 PS of power @ 6000 RPM and 113Nm of torque @ 3300 RPM. The diesel model of Tiago has been discontinued after the industry transitioned to BS6 emission norms. The gearbox options are a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). As far the safety equipment list is concerned it has an energy-absorbing body structure, dual front airbags, ABS with electronic brake distribution and corner stability control.

The prices of Tiago start from Rs. 4.60 lakh and go up to Rs. 6.74 lakh for the top-spec version XZA Plus Dual Tone with the automatic transmission. The main rivals in this entry-level hatchback segment include Renault Kwid, Hyundai Santro, Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Celerio. Tiago comes with six colour options, Victory Yellow, Flame Red, Pearlescent White, Pure Silver, Daytona Grey and Tectonic Blue along with dual-tone options for all colours.
