Tata Motors bags order of 250 EVs from Aurangabad Mission Green Mobility

Indian automotive giant Tata Motors has announced that it will deliver 250 EVs to the Aurangabad Mission Green Mobility (AMGM). These 250 EVs will consist of 175 Tata Nexon EVs and 75 Tata Tigor EVs for AMGM’s individual customers. In the first phase of the order, Tata Motors delivered 101 EVs, which included 70 Nexon EVs and 31 Tigor EVs. Meanwhile, the automaker stated that it would conduct the 2nd phase of deliveries to AMGM during the coming days.

ITC Rama International organized the delivery event along with the handover being attended by Mr Shailesh Chandra of Tata Motors. Currently, the automaker has managed to achieve a market share of 87% whilst selling over 21,500 EVs in India. Tata Motors is also playing a leading role in proactively driving the adoption of electric mobility in the country. The automaker is closely working with its other subsidiaries to create its own EV ecosystem called the “Tata uniEVerse”.

Tata Tigor EV & Nexon EV: Technical Specs

Tata Motors first introduced the Nexon and Tigor EVs for the Indian market back in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Starting with the Tigor EV, the sub-compact sedan is one of the country’s safest vehicles, thanks to a 4-star NCAP rating. Showcasing the brand’s Technology, Comfort, and Safety, the Tigor EV sports a 26kWh, high-energy-density Lithium-ion battery pack. This powers the electric motor to produce 55 kW and 170 Nm, which results in an ARAI-claimed range of 306 Km.

With this level of performance, the Tigor EV sports a 0-60 kph acceleration time of a brisk 5.7 seconds. Additionally, the automaker offers an 8-year/1,60,000 Km battery and motor warranty for Tigor EV customers in India. On the other hand, the Nexon EV is Tata Motor’s first mass-market attempt at an EV with 312 Km of range. The electric sub-compact SUV sports a larger 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that powers the permanent-magnet AC motor.

This motor and battery combination allows the Nexon EV to showcase 129 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque. Therefore, the electric sub-compact SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kph in a quick 9.9 seconds, thanks to driving modes, along with the same battery and motor warranty as to the Tigor EV, the Nexon EV sports 35 connectivity features. Via the official app, customers can access features like remote commands, vehicle health monitoring, safety/security, and driving/trip analytics.
