Tata Manza to be discontinued?

Tata Manza has been flagging in the sales department for a very long time. Combined sales of the Manza and the cheaper Indigo eCS also haven’t managed to cross the 3,000 units mark in the past couple of months. Now, with the addition of the fresher looking Zest, customers are moving away from the older, disproportionate looking sedan.

Reports now suggest that Tata Motors might be looking at discontinuing the Manza sedan from the Indian market. Poor sales of the Manza, and in a bid to free up more production space for the upcoming cars, this decision is on the cards.

Tata is currently working on getting their game right and has already reworked the Nano brand and will soon launch the new Bolt hatchback which is expected to follow the success story of the Zest compact sedan.

Launched in 2009, the Manza received a Rs. 2,000 crore, all-new platform which also underpinned the Vista. But things are looking very positive on the sales front and it is better to free up space for more modern and competitive products.

Those who look for a spacious, and comfortable chauffeur driver can will however miss the Manza. Back seat comfort is sofa-like and still unmatched by competition.
