Tata Magic EV revealed at Auto Expo 2023

Last year, Tata Motors had unveiled the Ace EV and the mini truck has already been deployed across leading e-commerce and courier companies. The Tata Magic is based on the Ace and hence, Tata has now launched the electric version of the Magic.

Electric vehicles will provide advanced, clean and smart solutions for cargo mobility. The will also help in the efficient and time-bound last mile delivery. Electric offerings like Tata Magic and Ace will also help companies with their climate conscientious customers to help achieve carbon neutrality.

Tata Magic EV : More details

The Magic EV is positioned as an advanced electric commercial vehicle. The range of applications include school, stage carriage, ambulance etc. The vehicle is equipped with fast charging as well.

In terms of features, Tata is offering advanced battery cooling system, IP 67 rated water and dustproof drive parts, connectivity solutions, an option for slow, fast and home charging, public charging infrastructure and more. All these are aimed at promoting greener transport solutions which have a low cost of operations.

Furthermore, the Magic EV comes with a host of optional features. These include reverse camera, additional luggage space, D+10 seating with twin co-passengers, 7-inch TFT infotainment system, voice assist and a modular platform for various applications.

Tata’s Ace EV

The Ace has been a success for the company since its launch, with over 2 million units sold in 2012 alone. The new electric ‘Chhota Haathi’ aims to continue the success story of the previous model. Tata says the new Ace EV will provide an enhanced and economical last-mile delivery solution. Furthermore, the Ace EV becomes the first electric four-wheeled commercial vehicle in the country.

Recently, FedEx has deployed the new Tata Ace EV in India. The electric goods carrier will assist the largest express transportation company in the world for last mile deliveries in India. A fleet of 30 Tata Ace EVs have been put to use in Delhi. These are part of FedEx’s goal of achieving carbon-neutral operations by 2040.
