Tata Motors now banking on their popular Tiago mass market hatchback have launched a new hatchback crossover which they claim to be a ‘urban Toughroader’. The new Tata Tiago NRG (read as Energy) has been launched at prices starting from INR 5.49 lakh for the petrol version and INR 6.31 lakh for the diesel version (ex-showroom Delhi).

Powering the Tiago NRG remains the same 1.2L Revotron petrol motor and a 1.05L Revotorq diesel motor, both available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This new crossover comes in silver, orange and white paint options along with dual tone effect of black roof & roof rails.

Exterior features include new front and rear bumpers, excess body cladding, plastic applique on the tail gate, new design alloy wheels, squarish wheel arch cladding, faux skid plates on the bumpers. Inside the Tiago NRG you get black interiors with orange accents, denim inspired fabric seats, cooled glovebox, 5″ touchscreen infotainment from Harman, 8-speaker audio system, Voice commands and the likes.

This is not just a cosmetic makeover, but the Tiago NRG also benefits with increased ground clearance rated at 180mm. Of course, the Tiago NRG gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, cornering stability control, follow me home lamps, and the likes.
