Tata Harrier soon to get dual-tone paint scheme

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Tata Motors has teased the Harrier and this time the mid-size SUV is likely to be offered in new dual-tone colours. The revealed images, not directly of the car, but the teasers hint at a orange + black and silver + black paint scheme. The body of the car will have a regular colour while the roof of the dual tone cars will be in black. The Harrier comes standard in Ariel Silver, Calisto Copper, Thermisto Gold, Telesto Grey and Orcus White.

The Tata Harrier is powered by a 1956cc, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 140 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox. On the higher-spec variants, it has three drive modes and three terrain response modes for the traction control. The car is also likely to be updated in the engine department and the FCA engine which currently produces 140 PS of power will produce 170 PS in its new BSVI avatar. The car is also expected to get a 6-speed torque converter type automatic transmission which is likely to be sourced from the South Korean carmaker Hyundai.

As reported earlier, the brand had recently hiked the price on their range which is as follows:-

TATA HARRIER
Variant Old Price Hike New Price
XE INR 12.70 Lakh INR 30,000  INR 13.00 Lakh
XM INR 13.75 Lakh INR 31,000 INR 14.06 Lakh
XT INR 14.95 Lakh INR 30,000 INR 15.26 Lakh
XZ INR 16.21 Lakh INR 35,000 INR 16.56 Lakh
All prices indicated are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Other Tata cars that are offered with dual-tone colour options include the Hexa, Nexon, Tiago, Tiago NRG, Tiago JTP and the Tigor JPT. The new dual-tone colour scheme could have come in response to its direct competitor MG Hector, which has been in the spotlight recently and the competitive pricing from MG is likely to lure away Tata customers.

The new dual-tone colour options for the Tata Harrier will surely demand a price premium.
