Tata.EV reduces electric car prices up to INR 1.2 Lakh

Tata has announced that the brand is reducing its prices on its electric vehicle range by a whopping INR 1.2 lakh. The Tata cars that benefit from the new price reduction is the Nexon.EV, Nexon.EV Long Range and the Tata Tiago.EV. The recently launched Tata Punch.EV price remains unchanged, as the battery cost is already factored in its introductory price.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Battery Cell Prices Reduce As Raw Material Cost Drop

Tata reveals that the battery cell prices have recently curtailed and are likely to soften further in the near future. The company is passing on these benefits to its customers through the price correction. As battery is a substantial part of any electric car it affects the overall cost of the vehicle.

Tata.EV Price Reduction – Tata Nexon.EV

The Nexon.EV comes with a new starting price of INR 14.49 lakh ex-showroom. Furthermore, the Long Range Nexon.EV comes with a starting price of INR 16.99 lakh ex-showroom. This means the Nexon.EV is now INR 1.2 lakh more affordable than before. The Tata Nexon.EV comes with a 30 kWh high energy density Lithium ion battery pack in the Medium Range model.

This variant gets a 95 kW motor with 215 Nm of torque and offers a range of around 312 km on a single charge. The model with the long range comes with a 40.5 kWh high energy density Lithium ion battery pack and 106.4 kW/215 Nm motor. The Long Range variant claims 465 km on a single charge. The 40.5 kWh battery variant also comes with a faster 7.2 kW AC charger, compared to the standard 3.3 kW AC charger.

Tata.EV Price Reduction – Tata Tiago.EV

Tata’s most affordable EV, the Tiago.EV is now INR 70,000 more reasonable than before. This brings its effective starting price to INR 7.99 lakh ex-showroom. Thanks to the price reduction, the Tiago.EV will now be accessible to even more customers.

Tata offers the Tiago.EV with two battery packs – Medium Range and Long Range. The medium range model comes with a 19.2 kWh High energy density Lithium ion battery pack and the long range model features a 24 kWh High energy density Lithium ion battery pack. The battery on the medium range comes with range of approximately 250 km on a single charge. While the long range model claims 315 km on a single charge.
