Tata Motor’s EV segment is currently flying with respect to sales volume. Further expanding the market, the carmaker revealed that it has delivered 712 EVs in Maharashtra and Goa in a single day. This marks the biggest EV delivery event by a 4-wheeler OEM in India in the personal EV space. Out of 712 EVs, 564 were Nexon EVs, and the rest 148 were Tigor EVs. Tata Motors is the most sought after EV maker in the four-wheeler segment. To date, the company has sold over 21,500 EVs, which marks a market share of a whopping 87 per cent. Tata Motors is playing a very big role in shaping the electric mobility scenes in the country.
Tata Nexon EV – The Most Loved Electric Car
The car was first revealed for the Indian market in December 2019. At that point in time, Nexon was already a hit product from Tata Motors. The timing of the launch of Nexon EV was almost perfect, thus making the car an instant hit in the electric space. Fast forward to 2022, Nexon EV is the most sold electric four-wheeler in the market.
The Tata Nexon EV comes with an ARAI certified range of 312 km thanks to the regenerative braking during deceleration. On the highway, one can expect a range of somewhere close to 200 km on a single charge, while the city range is slightly better. Powering the electric SUV is a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery coupled with a 129 PS permanent-magnet AC motor.
Tigor EV – The Only Electric Sedan In India
The most recent launch of Tata Motors in the electric segment is the Tigor EV. This is the perfect choice for someone looking for an electric daily commuter. ARAI has certified a range of 306 km on a single charge for the Tigor EV. Power to the front wheels comes via a 26-kWh high energy density Lithium-ion battery pack and the performance figure reads as 55 kW and 170 Nm. To further ensure a satisfactory customer ownership experience, the Tigor EV comes with an 8- year and 160,000 km battery and motor warranty.
