Tata recently launched the Curvv.EV, India’s first electric coupe SUV. The electric car comes feature packed and starts with a price tag of INR 17.49 lakh ex-shworoom. The brand also revealed that the Curvv.EV will come with two variants and we got the chance to test drive the vehicle in the picturesque city of Udaipur. Powering the Tata Curvv.EV is a 110 kW permanent magnet synchronous electric motor and the option of 123 kW motor. The motor is respectively paired to either a 45kW battery pack or a 55 kW battery pack and claims to deliver 502 km on a single charge with the 45 kW options and 585 km on a single charge with the 55 kW battery option.
The Curvv.EV is also capable of 70 kW fast charging which only takes 40 minutes for the car to charge. In addition to this, Tata also claims that both the electric motors deliver 215 Nm of torque and the Curvv.EV is capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in just 8.6 seconds. Estimated AC charging from a 7.2 kW charger takes the SOC from 10% to 100% in about 7.9 hours for the 55 kW options and 6.5 hours for the 45 kW battery pack. With a 15A plug point the Curvv.EV takes 21 hours for the 55 kW battery and 17.5 hours for the 45 kW option.
The Tata Curvv.EV comes with a coupe SUV design which is in itself quite distinct. The front fascia is typical of Tata’s latest design philosophy and comes with a connected LED DRL. The Curvv.EV also features bumper mounted LED headlamps as well as fog lamps. The front bumper also comes with aero curtains improving the drag coefficient of the electric vehicle. The Curvv.EV also gets squared off wheel arches and aero optimized alloy wheels. The car also comes with illuminated door handles and turn indicators on the ORVMs.
The Tata Curvv.EV also gets a sloping roofline, along with a roof integrated spoiler. The EV also features a notchback design which means, the bottled and the rear windscreen open together. Also, the Curvv.EV comes with commented LED taillamp and bumper mounted reverse lamps. The side and bumper cladding is also finished in piano black which gives the car a premium look. The EV also comes with animations on the front and rear LED DRLs as well as sequential turn indicators.
Tata offers the Curvv.EV with a 10.25-inch digital instruments cluster and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen infotainment system. The Curvv.EV also gets leatherette seats with metal elements, as well as textured dashboard along with soft touch materials. The Tata Curvv.EV features an electric tailgate as well as an electrically operated front charging port. The charging post also automatically shuts when if you forget to close it after charging the car. The Curvv.EV gets a 500-litre large boot along with an 11.5-litre frunk and plenty of cupholders and cubby hole on the inside.
The Tata Curvv.EV comes with a starting price of INR 17.49 lakh ex-showroom. The brand has already started accepting bookings of the Curvv.EV at Tata Dealerships across the country.
